This week I am thankful for opportunities outside of my comfort zone.

I believe there is a common misconception that religions cannot mix with one another, or participate in one another’s events. I don’t think you can be a true follower of Christ if you refuse to see through the eyes of others. Obviously, when I am participating in other religious experiences I am bowing my head for my God, not the gods of others. I do not participate in activities that contradict my own.

But I am respectful in theirs and my presence is welcomed because of that.

You cannot love others if you do not expose yourself to the entirety of one’s identity- and that includes where they align spiritually. Being spiritually and culturally competent is a gift and I am grateful that I get to exercise it!
